Copyright Support & Registration

Filing copyrights for university-developed software, systems, digital portals, academic textbooks, manuscripts, and online courseware.

Service Overview

Copyright protection is vital for securing non-patented academic and creative outputs. In the modern knowledge economy, university software source codes, database structures, online learning systems, textbooks, research publications, and video lectures represent valuable intellectual assets.

CIPPAC facilitates formal copyright registration of these assets with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC). This ensures authors, researchers, and developers retain legal rights and enables safe technology transfer licensing opportunities.

Our Copyright Process

1. Documentation & Evaluation

Inventors submit their materials (e.g., software source code snippets, manuscripts, or course slide decks) to CIPPAC. We review the materials to verify originality and proper authorship attribution.

2. NCC Application Preparation

We compile formal applications, complete the necessary declarations of authorship, collect copies of the work, and manage registration fees payment on behalf of UI scholars.

3. Filing and Certification

CIPPAC submits registrations directly to the Nigerian Copyright Commission portal and follows up with examiners to secure official copyright certificates.

Common Copyrightable Assets
